ANDREW EARLY
Multi-award winning artist Andrew Early, of Andrew Early Design Studio, has developed a distinctive organic style, implicit in the clean lines that characterise his work. He specialises in sculpting pared-down, sleek pieces of furniture, elemental in design, and in turning bowls that are objects d’art.

Andrew has a deep appreciation for the natural beauty of wood, and works only with wood that is salvaged; a principle he adheres to with the same passion inherent in each of his pieces. He is also passionate about the need to create awareness in buying products that are produced ethically and sustainably.

Awards and Exhibitions:
Andrew is the recipient of the Elle Décor International Design Award and Condé Nast House Style Award. His work has been showcased at exhibitions as far afield as Stockholm (Nordiska Museet), New York (Against the Grain, Museum of Arts and Design, 2012) and Paris (Centre Culturel Suédois).

His clients include Donna Karan, Terence Conran, The Nelson Mandela Foundation and the KZN Premier’s Office, and he has enjoyed wide exposure in South Africa via Meeting and Makers (Tatham Art Gallery), Southern Guild (Johannesburg Art Fair, 2010) and The Woodturner, his studio in the Natal Midlands. Having relocated to Durban, Andrew continues to enrich the design ethos.
